About Ordinario
Ordinario (abbreviated "ord.") cancels any preceding special technique marking — such as sul ponticello, sul tasto, col legno, or flautando — and tells the performer to resume their standard playing method. For string players, this means bowing in the normal position between the bridge and fingerboard with the hair of the bow.
