Opus numbers (abbreviated Op.) help identify and catalogue a composer's output. Op.

Symbols placed above or below notes to indicate how they should be attacked, sustained, or released.

A held note or rest; pause at the performer's discretion.

A word or phrase placed at the beginning of a piece or section indicating the speed at which it should be performed.

A pair of dots and double barlines that instruct the performer to replay a section of music.

The duration of a note relative to the beat.
