About Flautando
Flautando (or "flautato") instructs string players to bow very lightly near or over the fingerboard, producing a pure, breathy tone reminiscent of a flute. The technique is closely related to sul tasto but places particular emphasis on achieving a specific tonal quality rather than merely a bowing position.
