About Non troppo
Non troppo ("not too much") is a moderating phrase that tempers the instruction it accompanies, preventing the performer from taking a direction to its extreme. The most famous usage is "Allegro ma non troppo" (fast but not too fast), which appears at the head of countless Classical and Romantic movements.
